Dr. Okorie was born in Nigeria. He attended Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA and graduated from the Ross University School of Medicine. He completed his residency training in Family Medicine in Utica, New York. Dr. Okorie is Board Certified in Family Medicine. He holds certifications as ATLS, ACLS, ALSO, PALS, and MRO. Dr. Okorie is an Adjunct Clinical Professor with William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
He holds a Master's degree in Public Health with emphasis in Healthcare Administration from University of Southern Mississippi and also holds Memberships with the America Association of Family Physicians - Mississippi, The Association of Family Physicians, The American Academy of Pain Medicine, The Southern Pain Society and is a Member of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.
Dr. Okorie is married to Vivian and together they have three wonderful children; Anita, Stephanie, and Christopher. He holds his family with great value. He loves being a dad and spending time with his kids. He enjoys weekend drives and travel with his family. He loves swimming, playing soccer, watching football, boxing and watching movies. Some of his interests include: expanding healthcare, especially pain management to sub-Sahara, Africa and also research in opiate addictions.
Jennifer Massey, Office Manager
Jennifer Massey obtained her BSc from the University of Toronto, specializing in Nutrition and Food Chemistry with additional courses in business. She interned as an administrative Dietitian at the Misericordia Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
She has worked as both a clinical and administrative dietitian, supervising 12 medical food service departments before she and her family relocated to the United States. She has many years’ experience in medical administration. She has opened and managed an urgent care clinic, medical spa and weight loss clinic before joining St. Michael’s in the capacity of Office Manager.
She has three children, all in college, and enjoys reading, theatre and travelling.
Lauren Boone Hilbun, MSN, FNP-BC
Lauren Boone Hilbun is a Family Nurse Practitioner, board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and licensed by the state of Mississippi to provide family-centered healthcare to patients of all ages. Her scope of practice encompasses health promotion, disease prevention, diagnosis and management of common and complex health care problems beginning in childhood and continuing throughout the aging process.
She began her career in health care working as a staff RN in maternal/child hospital units. She has experience in pediatrics, nursery, gynecological surgery and recovery, and specifically labor and delivery, recovery and post-partum. Since that time, she has accumulated nearly 8 years of nursing experience and education in various areas of patient care.
In addition to her clinical experience, Lauren also has an outstanding academic background that includes a Bachelor of Science in biology, with Minors in chemistry and sociology from the University of Mississippi, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Nursing which she earned at William Carey University, and a Master of Science in Nursing from the Family Nurse Practitioner Program of the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
Lauren strives to provide the best health care possible. She believes in building a long lasting and trusting relationship with patients and customers. She seeks to acquire a comprehensive evaluation of every patient by taking time to listen and understand their particular needs. Her true desire is to enhance a positive healing experience and confidence to those in need.
